Birth : Montréal, 1963.

Training : Having first completed his studies in Fine Arts at Cégep Édouard Montpetit, as well as a course in commercial illustration at the Studio Salette, Carl Camiré became Vice-President and Artistic Director of Plan Design magazine for six years. Feeling the need for greater artistic expression and freedom, Camiré then accepted a one year position as a set designer in Guadeloupe where he began to paint more regularly. Thereafter, having returned to Québec and with an imagination brimming with the warm colours from the Caribbean, he dedicated himself to painting with great passion and energy.
Today, Camiré’s work is recognized by his uniquely minimalistic representations of nature. This, coupled with the artist’s discernible spontaneity and zest for life, has become his signature.
