Bruno Roy

Welder-assembler for more than 30 years, Bruno Roy is first and foremost a nature lover. He explores different creative approaches to welding mediums. Incredibly sensitive to ecological values, he did not want his artistic expression to be at the expense of the environment. Bruno Roy expresses himself today through recycled metals, scraps and industry surpluses. Through these unconventional materials he shares his love for nature and raises awareness on climate and ecological emergencies. All of his pieces have powerful messages about our environmental conditions, while being technically and visually impressive.

Bruno Roy begins his journey in the world of welding with a welding-assembly DVS in the region of Estrie. He falls in love with the technique and quickly realizes he wants to add his own artistic touch to it. He proceeded to do his bachelor diploma in visual arts at UQAM in 1998. Then, to perfect his technique, he went through a forgery training at the Forges de Montréal. He soon found himself working on huge projects for hotels in Las Vegas, as well as for the Asian Olympic Games “Doha” in 2006 and for the Rio Olympics in 2016.

The artist has participated in exhibitions all over Quebec.
