Flamand’s work presents viewers with an intuitive fusion of figurative and abstract art. What this means is that while the subjects of her pieces, typically cities or animals, are as they are represented, there is nevertheless a certain amount of artistic license exercised by the painter. It is this freedom of expression which has come to characterize Flamand’s work and has, in turn, made her pieces so highly sought after.
Krystel Flamand began her studies in visual arts at the Cégep de Lévis-Lauzon and later graduated from the architecture program at the University of Laval. Now an architect by trade, she continues to work in a design capacity for every firm with whom she is employed.
