Artistic approach

For Marie-Claude Jacques, to paint is above all an adventure of movements and colors. Responsive to the influence of music, color and light, she recreates the atmosphere of public places in which her characters evolve. Her large brush stroke gives the impression of living within the picture, to be one more character in her work of art.

Holds a University diploma of Fine Arts and a degree in Education of Arts at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières in 1996.

Birth

Born in Shawinigan in 1960, the artist now lives in Montréal.

Exhibitions

Since 1995 the artist has participated in over 80 exhibitions in several regions of the province of Québec, as elsewhere in Canada and Europe.

Collections

Private and corporate in Canada, United states and Europe. The Canadian National, Bombardier, Desjardins Trust, the Jean Coutu Foundation, the Société des Alcools du Québec, the City of Hamilton in Ontario are some of the companies who collect her art works.
