Michel Pleau

Michel Pleau

Michel Pleau grew up in an environment that favoured his development as an artist. His father was an established local painter and actively exposed Michel to the works of art history as well as teaching him painting techniques.
Direct contact with nature is Pleau’s greatest source of inspiration and joy. He applies colour with confidence and sculpts his landscapes in a meticulous manner. In his most recent work, the artist has forgone the use of a traditional paintbrush and instead prefers to work exclusively with a palette knife. The effect thereof is pieces which at once traditionally inspired but executed in a contemporary manner.
