Nathalie Chiasson

Nathalie Chiasson

Nathalie Chiasson’s foray into the arts began as a child when she started practicing classical dance. Over the course of fifteen years studying this discipline, she mastered the language of the body and later went on to teach classes for children. Gradually, however, her interests began to turn towards fashion. In 1989, she simultaneously graduated from a fashion design program and won the prestigious «Dé d’argent» award. Having spent several years mastering these various fields, she finally elected to pursue a career in the visual arts.
Her painted works, which incorporate coffee washes and multiples layers of acrylic paint, are inspired by timeless themes such as still lifes and classical wine vintages. Each piece is carefully constructed layer by layer and then finally detailed with coffee drippings and gold detailing to create a regal effect.
