Training

Sandor Monos moved to Canada in 1977 to raise his family and begin a career in the arts. Though he had previously experimented with various mediums, it was bronze casting which would become his focus. In order to perfect his technique, the artist began taking night courses while working full time.
With a natural aptitude for bronze work, it wasn’t long before Monos began innovating means of casting metal to achieve a sense of movement; something which would later characterize his style. The figures of his sculpted pieces appear agile, dynamic, and flexible without any extraneous detail. In this way, his work defies traditional bronze artistry while attracting new enthusiasts to a time honored means of self expression.
